Effective February 1, 2010, Kearney Public Schools will be utilizing the online
School Recruitment System application process. 
 


We will no longer be able to accept applications for any position not submitted through the online Recruitment System.  If you have submitted an application in the past, you will need to complete an application using our online application process.
IMPORTANT NOTE:   If you close your browser before receiving a confirmation screen at the end of each section, all data entered since the time of your last confirmation will be lost.

What you will need to apply for a position using the online application process:
The application contains several pages and will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete on your initial visit. You will have a chance to review and make changes before submitting.

Before you begin, be prepared with the following information:
  •  User Name and Password:     
    This will be created on your initial visit.  Record and protect this information for future use.  Your user name and password will be needed each time you enter the system. Once this is set up, you will be able to apply for a position in any school that uses the School Recruiter Application Software.
  • Email address: 
    This will be used for future correspondence.  If you do not have an email address, you can get a free one from one of several providers. Some popular ones are Google Mail, Yahoo Mail and Hotmail.
  • Social Security Number:   
    This will be used for background checks and payroll purposes.
  • References (at least 3):
    Include their current address, phone number, and email.  NOTE:  This information may be used to verify your employability.Previous Work History.  Include dates of employment, current company name, address, phone number, and supervisor’s name and email address.   NOTE:  This information may be used to verify your employment history and employability.

Click here  to see the current job openings available.  New positions are posted each Friday. You will have the opportunity to search postings and filter for specific positions that interest you. Click on the position title for more information about that specific position.

Please request from your college/university an official copy of your transcript and Credential file be sent to the Human Resources Department. If you do not have an active credential file, we will need to have the official transcript(s) from your college/university and four (4) letters of recommendation sent directly to Kearney Public Schools, 310 West 24th St.  Kearney, NE  68845.   These items will be scanned into the system and be part of your electronic file.

If you have applied in the last 3 years please contact Dellene at dellene.bosard@kearneypublic.org AFTER completing the new application to have materials (Credential file, Transcript(s), and/or Recommendation letters) from your previous application file scanned into the new application system.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER:


Welcome to the Substitute Teacher Application process.

Substitute Teacher applications are accepted throughout the school year. Orientations are conducted late September through March.  If you have questions regarding substitute teaching, please contact KPS Human Resources: Dellene Bosard at dellene.bosard@kearneypublic.org or 308-698-8013.
  • CERTIFICATION
 Kearney Public Schools Substitute Teachers must hold a valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate. The Certificate may be a Teaching certificate, a Substitute Teaching certificate or a Local Substitute Teaching certificate.
  • CREDENTIALS/TRANSCRIPT
Please request from your college/university an official copy of your transcript and credential file to be sent to the Human Resources Department. If you do not have an active credential file, we will need to have the official transcript(s) from your college/university and three (3) letters of recommendation.
  • YOUR FILE
A Substitute application file will be established for you and will contain the application, credentials, transcripts, and reference letters. Once the file is completed it will be reviewed and then you will be contact to schedule a substitute orientation.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL APPLICANTS:

Kearney Public Schools, upon employment, utilizes E-Verify to validate the ability of new employees to work legally in the United States.  Our E-Verify information is provided by One Source – The Background Check Company.

Kearney Public Schools utilizes One Source – The Background Check Company to check several databases for any state or national criminal history, child and adult protective services charges, etc.  A Driver’s License report will be run should you be required to drive a school vehicle of any type.
