Teachers around the world use Starfall.com as an inexpensive way to make the classroom more fun and inspire a love of reading and writing. Starfall is an educational alternative to other entertainment choices for children. Primarily designed for first grade, Starfall is also useful for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and second grade.
The Census in Schools, from the U.S. Census Bureau, is only offered to schools once every ten years to coincide with the decennial census, which is taking place in 2010. This free education program offers lessons, worksheets, and classroom resources for grades K-12. Kits will be mailed to principals this fall, and the online component is already available. The program helps students learn about U.S. history, civic engagement and our government, and provides some easy-to-use resources for teachers.
