Kearney Public Schools Media Literacy Purpose Statement:
The media literacy curriculum empowers students to be creative and critical thinkers, responsible users, and competent producers of media and information. School librarians foster a community in which reading, writing, speaking, listening, and thinking serve as the foundation for learning for life.

Scope and Sequence for the KPS Internet Safety Curriculum - Common Sense Media is a website dedicated to helping kids thrive in a world of media and technology. The organization aims to "empower parents and educators by providing unbiased information, trusted advice, and innovative tools to help them harness the power of media and technology as a positive force in all kids' lives."
National Online Safety Parent Platform Guides - National Online Safety is an organization supported by the National Education Group in the UK. Their mission is to "educate and empower trusted adults with the information they need to engage in meaningful dialogue between children and young people about the online world, their online activities and the ever-evolving risks that they are exposed to. [They] focus on both general online safety risks and platform specific risks to provide adults with easy to follow information which enables conversations between adults and children."
